Avo & Cado prefolds consist of several layers of cotton sewn together, which are divided into three parts that easily fold over each other and can be easily unfolded to dry. Avo & Cado prefolds are specially made for AVO&CADO covers and are slightly shorter than classic prefolds. For very wet babies or if extra absorbency is needed, we recommend placing any booster in the prefold or underneath. New and unwashed, the prefolds are very smooth and flat, but after the first wash they become softer and more absorbent and their structure also changes. Before first use, you should wash your prefolds at least twice at 60 degrees so that the fibers can be cleaned of their natural oils and thus retain their absorbency. Their dimensions (18 cm x 28 cm), larger than the usual disposable napkins, make them much safer against any sticky or solid stool losses: just place them correctly horizontally on the nappy, in contact with the baby's skin . Their composition allows liquids to pass, capturing the solid part. They can be flushed down the toilet and, once the faeces have been removed, these inserts can be disposed of with household waste or in compost (the cellulose is in fact purely vegetable, therefore completely biodegradable).
