Lanolin, a water-repellent wax, is used to make wool cases waterproof. wash the cover in the washing machine at 30 degrees on a wool/delicate programme. pat dry with a towel and spread horizontally. to lanolise use half a spoonful of lanolin. dissolve it in a cup with boiling water and 3 drops of delicate shampoo for children. turn and melt the wax. at this point immerse the cover in a basin of hot water (about 2 litres) and add to the solution. leave to soak for 30 minutes and then machine wash on a delicate/wool programme. dab with a towel and dry horizontally. the wool cover can be washed / lanolised every 3 weeks as long as it is not dirty with poop or soaked in pee. in this case it must be washed.
