If it is dirty with poop, it can be washed by placing the poop under the jet of water (no scrubbing) and letting the running water remove the residues. The silk burette can be reused even in the event of a halo. Using them is really simple: 1) Clip one side of the closure to the diaper just above one leg while holding the diaper in place. 2) Stretch the clasp to the other side and clip the fabric over the other leg. 3) Pull the clasp down to hook the fabric between the legs creating the Y shape. That's it! Now the nappy is securely fastened and will provide a high degree of containment without the risk of pin pricks. They can be washed with warm water and will last for years.
